Adding More Batteries-To a Mobility Scooter

Adding More Batteries

Adding More Batteries

Of course its no mistery that Mobility Batteries don’t like the cold. Frequently, the winter temperatures can get down below freezing temperatures lately. Specifically, this can seriously limit how long my scooter batteries will last out there. Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve had to push my scooter home several times. Because the batteries had nothing left to give.

Drastically, I took advice from an old friend and bought a backup scooter. This was, so I would still have some transportation when my good mobility scooter, went in for repairs. I decided to take the batteries from the old backup scooter and add them to my good one to see if I could extend the time I could stay out in the cold weather. It worked out quite well with no hiccups. I did it the way I did so I could still use the batteries on the original scooter, should the need arise. As a bonus, the extra weight actually gives a smoother ride with the stiff suspension. 🙂

It worked out quite well with no hiccups. However, I did it the way I did, so that I could still use the batteries on the original scooter, should the need arise. As a bonus, the extra weight actually gives a smoother ride with the stiff suspension. 🙂 I have always advocated that the drivers of mobility scooters should have a spare set of mobility scooter batteries including your electric wheelchairs handy. Consequently, these spare batteries could help if the driver runs out of power on a journey. Apparently, this sort of thing happens quite regularly. It is not unknown for mobility scooter drivers to have to send out SOS messages to their relations and loved ones.

The guy in the video must be good with his hands. I would not recommend joining four batteries together. This would give more power, but you would have to know what you are doing first.
