Stories like these make me feel very sad. Although many of us have traumatic incidents in our lives. So some unlucky people seem to “draw the short straw”. I as a blogger have had a few incidents in my life that could have ended up a lot worse.

So, when I was in my mid twenties I was involved in an explosion. Hence when employed as a fire fighter. Although quite seriously injured I came out of it a stronger person. Albeit two years later. Thus, I genuinely believe that these life changing events are there to challenge us. Later on in life I also suffered a stroke. However I once again recovered and am now in good health again.

I strongly feel that stories like this about Lara should be heard.

As a result I have read that one of the first signs of this disease amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is the sudden loss of being able to speak properly. Also the lack of ability to speak certain words. Incidentally this was the first sign that I had when I had my stroke!

These disabilities come as a shock and you must get medical advice straight away! Lara was first diagnosed as having “post-natal depression”

This disease probably has very slow beginnings. So, it’s the responsibility of the medical professionals to confirm whether that individual is suffering from ALS or something else. Sometimes if the person involved has trouble walking or running and experiences. Including weakness in their muscles, then this is another symptom that you should watch out for is.  Other motor neuron degeneration symptoms include shortness of breath, weakened reflexes and muscle cramps.

I suppose these symptoms can be attributed to many illnesses and only stringent testing can come up with the correct diagnosis. however we wish Lara all the luck in the future. My blogs are normally about wheelchairs, mobility scooter and their batteries. However sometimes i write about other unfortunate people who deserve another mention.
