Stories like this always tug at my heartstrings? Perhaps it is because a few years ago. So I suffered from a stroke. I was one of the lucky ones. As a result of losing my speech, then my wife was quick enough to realise that there was something drastically wrong with me. Within seconds she dialed 999.

Another bit of luck came my way. Hence, to find that an ambulance was parked up nearby. We do this in the UK as it makes it possible for a faster response. I used to criticize this at one time as a “waste of resources” but not any more. Consequently, within seconds we could hear the ambulance on its way to me. I was whizzed off to Halifax hospital. Here in Yorkshire UK.

Later that evening I was diagnosed as having a “stroke” and admitted to hospital. The NHS (National Health Service) were just great. As a result, scans and drugs were administrated day and night. Because, of my wife’s swift action. Then I should make a successful recovery.

Other patient in my ward were not so lucky and would have gone on to have some sort of disabilities. Similar to the lady in this story. I recovered well but for a while I took a back stage from by business, taking things a little easier.
